Jack & Joey, Adopted December 2012
We had the best holiday ever. We were adopted TOGETHER by Leanne & Armando. We get to sleep in the big bed and life here is all about us. We are loved, spoiled and extraordinarily happy. Thank you WROC, we know we had an angel watching out for us. Love and many kisses, Jack & Joey
JACK & JOEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 9 year old neutered male and my brother Joe is 7 years old. We lived our entire lives with our Dad Carey. Dad was a great guy, someone who always was giving of himself, like volunteering with WROC to help transport Westies who were less fortunate than us. Then one day our Dad passed away and Mom could not keep us any longer. Who would have thought we would be in the same predicament as those "other" Westies who were in need. Thank goodness WROC welcomed us with open arms and today, those "other" Westies are some of our best friends.
Our confidence is back thanks to WROC's loving care and we are so eager to have a family again. Joe is a bit of a clown and I am the serious one. We sleep together in the same crate and Joe copies everything I do since I am the independent one. Joe & I would really like a home together and we promise to love you forever. BTW – I love chasing my tail and Joe thinks I am crazy!! XOXO Jackie & Joe
Teddy, Adopted December 2012
My Christmas wish came true, I got my very own family. Mom & Dad Fatima & Stephen think I am the greatest and my very own kid, Shane, is over the moon for me! I am such a happy dog. Merry Christmas everyone! When you wish really hard, dreams do come true! XOXO Teddy
TEDDY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I landed myself in the pokey. Seriously, I was in jail in Manhattan Beach, but I had a guardian angel named Staci there. Best she could tell, I was dumped on a very busy street. She looked high and low for my owners, but I had no ID and no one came for me. That's when she contacted WROC and here I am on the road to recovery. I am a very sweet 5-6 year old, 18 pound boy, neutered, current on all my shots, and
microchipped. I am going to the eye doctor to have my eyes checked, but I will be ready to go home very soon. I am a sassy sweet guy and my new family will be very very lucky!! Hope to hear from you soon. Love, Teddy
Cooper, Adopted December 2012
Hoorah, I was adopted by Paula & Scott. I got to go home for the holidays! I am so happy in my new home with this wonderful family. Thank you WROC for giving me a second chance at a great new life. Lots of kisses, Cooper
COOPER'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Cooper. I am a very handsome 5 year old, 25 pound neutered male. My owner gave me up because a new baby came on the scene and our lives changed. I have been to training to re-gain my confidence and obedience and I am a much happier boy now. I am looking for a family that really understands us Westies. I would like a pack leader that I can look up to and love unconditionally. I am a great dog, I love to play, and I love to walk. I am looking for my forever home. XOXO Coop
Bear & Bailey, now Harry & Gracie, Adopted December 2012
We were adopted by Brent and Libby.
Mom Libby writes: We are so in love! Our friends keep saying how happy we look. And, I keep telling Brent I'm so happy! I know Brent is happy, I can see it in his face, hear it in his voice, and witness it in his tender care of Gracie and Harry who seem to be adjusting well. Harry walks beautifully on leash, what a dream! Gracie is out in front, making all of us pick up our pace. Thank you so much for the service you provide and bringing Gracie and Harry into our lives. They are the shining stars in our life now so hopefully, if they could speak, they would say this is the best.
BEAR & BAILEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Bailey (5 year old female) and Bear (6 year old male) are a bonded pair that have been with each other their whole lives. Unfortunately, their home life circumstances changed and because their previous owners loved them so much, they entrusted us to place them together in a forever home. They have been very well cared for and are two very sweet Westies. They love their toys, going on walks, dog parks and are potty trained and crate trained. They are spayed and neutered, current on their shots and microchipped.
BonBon, Adopted November 2012
I was adopted by Virginia. She and I make an amazing team. We go shopping, on long walks, and to the park. We are both having a wonderful time. We needed each other - thank you WROC for matching us up!! XOXO BonBon
BONBON'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a darling 9 year old Westie princess. I have signed up for Jenny Craig because I am a little overweight at 21 pounds, but I will have my girlish figure back in no time. I am the cutest girl, I love to dress up and I love presents. I dance on my back legs just to get that new toy! My Dad passed away and Mom just could not keep me, so here I am, ready for my new adventure. Give me a call, I am waiting for my best home ever!!! Lots of Kisses, BonBon
Aiden, now Danny, Adopted November 2012
All it took was a play date with WROC Alum "Harry" and I found my forever home with Gordon, Michele, Rachel and Tomas. I thought foster care was a dream come true since my time spent in the San Diego shelter, but having a family to call my own is heaven on earth! To ensure my comfort, they bought son Tomas a bigger bed so there is plenty of room for me and Harry. Now, that's what I call a perfect family! We tag along when Mom brings Tomas to school in the mornings, get lots of walks, spend time at the dog park and taunt the squirrels in our big back yard. Life is really good! We are two very happy Westies. Thank you for this great new life! Love Danny
AIDEN'S ORIGINAL STORY: Aiden was tied up to a tree in front of the San Diego shelter. Not only was this frightening for Aiden, exposing him to the elements and predators of the night is cruelty at its best. Chances were slim that anyone would come for a boy that had a lateral luxating patella in need of surgery. Knowing that WROC never fails to provide top-notch veterinarian care, the shelter called us asking for help. Aiden settled in as though he had been here his entire life. He loves chasing balls at the park and kicking up the dirt with all the other dogs. He can also be a lap dog and for such a little guy, he takes up half the bed. Aiden had his surgery two weeks ago with the generous help from LifeLine 4 Paws. He is receiving laser therapy as well to help him heal as quickly as possible, as this little fireball pogo stick does not appreciate “crate rest”. But he most certainly appreciates all the love and attention foster care offers him. Aiden will be a delightful addition to the family.
Mickey, now Mickey McGee, Adopted November 2012
I was adopted by Mom Victoria and Miss Bree and what a home it is!!
MOM VICTORIA WRITES: Mick is adjusting to his new home so well and feels right at home and is in absolute LUV with me and Miss Bree. They get along famously, following each other around everywhere. He is just a joy to have as part of the our family and we could not be happier to have him. He definitely has a fabulous personality, is polite, well mannered, minds perfectly and is very content to finally be HOME again. We look forward to many happy years together. Thanks so much for allowing us to adopt this beautiful boy.
MICKEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Mickey and I am a handsome 8 year old, 24 pound, neutered boy. My family moved on, the kids went to college and my Mom went to work. I was once the family pet, pampered and loved, now left outside to fend for myself. I was lonely and sad until one day a lady came to the house, Mom petted me goodbye and I was whisked off to the groomer and the vet. What a day...bath, haircut, shots...I was exhausted, but I felt really good. I got a delicious dinner of Highlander Hash and I am happy again. No more being left alone for long periods of time, no more being left outside with no one to play with. I see in my future a loving family who dotes on me. XOXO Mick
Higgins, Adopted November 2012
I hit the big time when I found my way to my new folks David and Linda. Every day is an adventure with jaunts to the beach, walks through the neighborhood and best of all RV traveling around the country! My new sis Teddi (she's a cute Cairn terrier) shares toys with me and we do everything together. Mom says that I am the best thing since the electric car. I just love riding around town in my Dad's classic convertible with the top down (I'm secured of course) and I must say, I get lots of looks from the girls! I get so many tummy rubs, kisses and cuddles that I'm delirious! Thank you for finding me this great family! I am as happy as can be! Happy Kisses, Higgins
HIGGINS' ORIGINAL STORY: Sweet Higgins sat in a shelter waiting for his owners to come for him, but they never did. We believe he was loved at one time because ex-rays showed that he had a past knee surgery done. Our veterinarian exam showed that he was in need of another surgery on the other leg. With the help from Lifeline for Paws, Higgins had his surgery and is doing fine. Higgins is a very gentle soul. He engages in playtime with his foster siblings, but is equally happy to sit on his foster Dad’s lap as long as they are in the “man chair”. Higgins is neutered, microchipped, current on his shots and had his dental work done. He will be ready for his new home very soon. If you are interested in Higgins, please send in your application today.
Sophia & Lauren, now Lana & Lucy, Adopted October 2012
We were adopted by Dennis & David and what a great day that was. We have a brand new life with the most wonderful parents. We just love the "desert" and our beautiful new home. We are so very happy that we are staying together. Thank you WROC from the bottom our our contented little hearts...Lana & Lucy
SOPHIA & LAUREN'S ORIGINAL STORY: We are 2 of the sweetest Westie girls that you could imagine and we cannot imagine understand how we ended up in the shelter with our little rhinestone collars. We were very sad. I am Sophia and I was so happy when WROC picked me up from the shelter. Wow, free at last! I had been there so long that I was beginning to think that's the way my life would be forever. I jumped right into the car and was ready to go; anywhere. The car pulled out of the parking lot and I began to panic. "Wait! We can't leave without my Mom, Lauren." But the shelter rules had Lauren stay another week. Seven days later, I was re-united with my mom and I have been the happiest dog in the world since. I am hoping for a home where mom and I can be together forever. We are great girls & will love you lots. Can you make a spot for us in your hearts & home? XO Sophia & Loren
Carter, now Cooper, & Callie, Adopted October 2012
It's official! Callie and I are best friends and we got to go home together. We were adopted by Kim, the perfect Mom for us. She is patient and loving and we adore her right back. Our extended family includes Bill, Pam & WROC's previously adopted Westie, Wally. We are very lucky dogs indeed! Hugs & Kisses from us both, Cooper & Callie
COOPER'S ORIGINAL STORY: I'm Carter, a darling 9 month old Westie-ish puppy, sweet and entertainingly playful with the other Westies! I get along with everything and everyone, although I have been told that I am a bit shy, until I know you. I am handsome, smart, playful and I have a ton of personality going for me. I have been through a lot in my short little life so I am looking forward to a new family that would continue my training and maybe another Westie in the home. XOXO Carter
CALLIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Callie and I am 5-6 years old. I do not know why, but my owners dropped me off at the shelter. I was such a good girl, it broke my heart for them to leave me there. But a WROC associate spotted me in the back of a kennel, all huddled up, very scared and unhappy. She swooped me up & I flew into her arms! To say I am a perfect little girl is an understatement. If you think you might love me forever...I am waiting XOXO Callie
Gwendolyn & Gretchen, Adopted October 2012
Such adorable girls travelled a very long road to adoption. They are now happy, content and very much loved.
GWENDOLYN & GRETCHEN'S ORIGINAL STORY: Gwendolyn and Gretchen are two very fortunate young ladies. Gwendolyn set a goal to lose the extra weight and she is now an amazing 19.6 lbs, down from 27 lbs!! She is fit, fast, and loving her new look. We discovered that both girls needed surgery for a torn ligament and luxating patella. Both girls had surgery thanks to the generous help from Lifeline for Paws.
Evie, Adopted October 2012
Evie was adopted by Frank and they are living happily ever after!
FRANK WRITES: I am beginning to think that I AM THE RESCUE. She is the perfect dog. We are walking 4 times a day and I have lost 7 pounds. I got the food to make Highlander Hash, so, now I am Ms. Diva's Chef!! I love her to pieces and it's vice versa. I think I am the dog and she is my master..lol, it doesn't matter we really enjoy each other. I know now I am the owner of a perfect dog or she is a canine mastermind.
EVIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Evie A new baby came into our house and we just could not work it out. My owners knew that WROC was the best place for me, so here I am, an adorable 6 year old spayed female. I made an excellent transition to my foster home - so many toys and Westies. I am fun girl and I am ready for my new home, might that be you? Let me hear from you, a beautiful girl like me is sure to be very popular! XOXO Evie
Trevor, now Phinney, Adopted October 2012

WROC did it again - they found the perfect family for me with Linda, Jack & Westie Rosie. My life will be the very best from here on out. I am safe, secure and very spoiled. Woohoo!! XOXO Phinney
TREVOR'S ORIGINAL STORY: I had a really close call...I spent 23 days in a shelter. My coat was overgrown and dirty and no one recognized me for the beautiful Westie that I am. Lucky for me, a WROC associate saw through the dirt and grime and saved me just in time. I am now recovering from the neglect that has been my life. My coat is shaved pretty close, but it will grow and I will be stunning. I am a very sweet, well mannered boy, neutered, current on all my shots and microchipped. I will make a great addition to some very lucky family. I will be ready for my new home in no time. Westie Kisses, Trevor
Eric, Adopted October 2012
I was adopted by Denise & David and I got my very own kids. I am such a happy boy - thank you WROC and Betze for making my dreams come true. Happy Westie Kisses, Eric
ERIC'S ORIGINAL STORY: I just arrived at WROC and I surely am happy to be here. Gone are my days of living outside and having to fend for myself. I had a home, but no one to love me. I was not mistreated, but I was neglected and I was very sad. I will need some training, but I promise you I will be the very best doggie. I am 3 years old, neutered and current on all my shots. I am a very smart boy and I learn really quickly. I cannot wait to have a loving family of my own. Might that be you? I would love to hear from you. XOXOXO Eric
Phillip & Savannah, now Fred & Ginger, Adopted September 2012
We are staying together!! Our new Mom Linda thinks we are the greatest and the feeling is very mutual. We have our own home with toys, great food, and lots of love. We are safe and very happy. Thank you WROC for our wonderful new Mom!! XOXO Fred & Ginger
PHILLIP & SAVANNAH'S ORIGINAL STORY: I remember the days when I had my own bed, my own toys and my own kid. Then one day my world and my sister, Savannah's turned upside down. We were unceremoniously dropped off and abandoned by our parents, along an on-ramp to a busy Los Angeles freeway. As the hundreds of cars whizzed by; we were terrified, devastated and felt a sense of betrayal that you could not even imagine. Lucky for us a good Samaritan picked us up and took us to a nearby shelter. Even luckier for us, WROC came for as soon as the shelter would release us. It is amazing what good food, TLC, and vet care can do. We are loving life again; emotionally, physically, we are healthy, trusting & learning to love again. We are 3 years old, neutered, shots are current and microchipped. We are so sweet and we both give great Westie kisses. XO Phillip & Savannah
Harry, Adopted September 2012
Life is all about timing...the unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable becomes available, the unattainable...attainable. Harry spent his life in a neglected situation until several people made it possible to get Harry to WROC, where he spent a year in rehabilitation . He waited a long time for a perfect home which he found with Gordon, Michele, Rachel and Tomas. He settled in immediately as though he had been with his new family his entire life. We believe Harry knew that "timing is everything" and he did find his "everything". Harry's new life is filled with toys, family walks and park outings, but more importantly, a family that loves him to pieces. We just couldn't be any happier that Harry chose this wonderful family as his own. .
HARRY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Oh Harry! Whether he's good, bad, or indifferent, it's impossible to start a discussion about this amazing Westie without starting with "Oh Harry"! Also known by many as Harrison, Harry is his own dog and lives by his own rules. When it comes to fostering, rehabilitating and gentle discipline, we are the professionals but Harry has his own idea as to what this all means. It did not take long for Harry to figure out that he could get by on his "looks" alone. Though crate trained, and quite successfully for the first few months, Harry knows how to get his way with gentle whimpers in the night until his person shamefully gives in, and puts him on the big bed. He prefers to sleep on his back smack up against his person or smothered in a sea of pillows. Harry loves to chase balls, but will not bring them back. Harry will retrieve the ball and stand still until you come to him to toss it out again. Harry will give you the ball as long as its the big tennis balls but he will not give up the small ones under any circumstances. Harry does love toys though the stuffed ones do not stand much of a chance. He gets along with all dogs, it’s a very peaceful existence as everyone knows Harry gets what Harry wants. Harry also expects to ride shotgun everywhere we go. Putting Harry in a back car seat is not his thing. Harry is in excellent health. He came from a very neglectful past and endured many months of medicated soft brush baths but is virtually bath free; except when he rolls in the dirt. He has grown a beautiful thick wiry coat with the exception of his bum. It is likely he will never grow hair there again but it does not take away from his dashing good looks and his fun personality.
Nilla, Adopted August 2012
Look at me, I’m as happy as can be!
I knew that if I played it smart, they’d find it in their big heart.
I am a special girl as you can see, even if I’m not 100% Westie.
I may not be young and state of the art, but I am ready for my fresh new start.
Forever home I will be, with WROC to love and care for me!
Well, Nilla, we couldn’t have said it any better! Yes, it’s true. WROC is pleased to announce that Nilla has joined our foster family permanently. With the kind and generous sponsorship of Jean-Louis and Grace, this spry 13 year old, sweet senior girl will remain with her foster family and the resident Westies that have loved her since she arrived last fall. We are honored to have Nilla share her ‘senior sparkle’ with us. If you’d like to send your congratulations to Nilla by helping WROC seniors and special need westies, please CLICK HERE to visit our senior page. The “Perry Fund” has been established in honor of Perry, a very special and deserving senior Westie. Donations to this fund will assist our mission to provide the best medical for our seniors & ensure their comfort while in our care.
Buddy, Adopted August 2012
Lindy's adopters, Carol Ann & Howard, took one look at me and knew that I was the one for Lindy and their family. They were so right - Lindy and I are the greatest of friends and I am one very happy boy. I have a family that will take the very best care of me, Mom's a nurse and Dad's a doctor - can it get any better than that? THANK YOU WROC!! Sweet & Happy Kisses, Buddy
BUDDY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Buddy. I am the best companion anyone could ever hope for in a dog. I am a 6 year old, 20 lb. neutered male. My shots are current and my foster mom says that I am the best mannered Westie that she has ever met. My one big request is to be with you as much as possible. I love to ride in the car, go with you to the stores or work, sleep on the bed with you at night and be by your side while you do your chores. I had some skin issues that are almost healed and I need eye drops every day. I am a true diamond in the rough and I will bring a sparkle to my lucky new family. XO Buddy

Chase, now Wylie Chase, adopted August 2012
I was patient, difficult for a puppy like me, but I waited for the PERFECT family. Laura and John walked up the path and I instantly knew they were the ones - my new Mom & Dad!!! I raced to meet them, so excited I could barely contain myself. Mom picked me up, I kissed her sweetly because I wanted to impress her. She hugged me and handed me to Dad who said I was a terrific boy. We walked and my feet barely touched the ground - I was soooo happy! My new family really understands us Westies...lots of walks, toys, and playtime. Life is grand. Thanks to WROC, I am home. XOXO Wylie

My foster Mom is starting my diet and exercise regime...she says I could lose a pound or 2. I love walking and I love my new diet, so I will regain my girlish figure in no time. I love nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch and snuggle my head in the crook of your knee. I am a lovebug and I am ready if you are! Happy Kisses, Lulu

It was not easy, but I did the best I could to survive in a very inhospitable and hot environment. Thank goodness, I am now in the loving arms of WROC. I am enjoying the great California beach weather, not to mention that great Highlander Hash & a steady meal. Boy life sure has changed for the better for me, thanks to WROC. BILLY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Billy and my owners were getting a divorce and they chose to forget about me. I wasted away from lack of food and attention. My malnutrition had me on death's door and, as if it could not get any worse, they dropped me off at a local shelter. The shelter put me on the euthanasia list. But I had an angel at the shelter...Kelly saw the spirit in my heart and just could not let me go. She called everyone she knew until she came to WROC and then my life began again. I am eating great food and getting stronger every day. I am a sweet and gentle survivor, a warrior in my own way. One last item worth mentioning, I am a WHITE SCHNAUZER!! Very grateful kisses, Billy

SCOOTER'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a baby and I do not know how it happened, but I found myself in a shelter. A WROC associate saw me playing and jumping around happily all by myself. She came over amd petted me but walked away because I was not quite a Westie. I barked really loud trying so hard to get her attention. Suddenly she turned around and came back to me. She told me that my life was about to change because she just could not leave a baby like me in the shelter. I am an adorable 4 1/2 month old, 11 pound puppy. I love to play, run, jump, and then I sleep. If you have the time for me, I am so ready for you! XO Scooter

Lucky, adopted by WROC April 2012
I have such good news...I am once again very "LUCKY" because WROC decided it would be best for me to join their pack. I love Joey, Holly & Max and while I may move a little slowly, they are patient with me. I love our morning walks, basking in the sun, and breakfast and dinner are my most favorite times of the day. I am back where I belong and I am very happy. Thank you everyone for your support and generosity. I am feeling very special, Lucky
LUCKY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am indeed, a very "LUCKY" boy. My family's circumstances changed dramatically and they felt that WROC was the best place for me. I was welcomed with open arms, a warm bed, and that wonderful Highlander Hash. Being the adaptable kind of gentleman that I am, I fit in just perfectly. I have been "socialized" and learned what it takes to be part of a "pack" and to get along with humans and other dogs. XOXO Lucky

I am getting lots of exercise and am eating good. Thank you WROC for giving me a wonderful new life! Love, Ian
NOTE FOR MOM MARGARET: He is our baby boy with attitude! Everyone in the neighborhood has met Ian and thinks he is adorable! He seems to already be at home...ate my slippers, snagged the baby wipes and shredded the package. It's all good because we are under his spell!

I also take a pill, Atopica, once a day that keeps my skin from becoming itchy. I adore people to pieces. I would most enjoy sleeping and relaxing next to you. I would prefer to be your only dog, so I can get all the attention! I am waiting for my new forever home. I promise to love you forever! Pixie

I am a little shy at first but I do warm up rather quickly. I sleep very well in my crate at night as long as its next to my person. I am a gorgeous boy that is looking for my forever home. Until then, all the other Westies here will keep me company until I meet you. Love, Simba
Amelia & Simone, Adopted February 2012
Most thought we were an unlikely pair, but when new Mom Gina laid her eyes upon us, she knew instantly that we are kindred spirits. Without a second thought, we went home with her. Mom takes us to work every day where we get to play all day long at the Barkley day camp. The best part is that we get to stay together! Thank you WROC for finding us the perfect forever home. Love Amelia & Simone
Note from Mom Gina: The girls have adjusted beautifully and I cannot imagine life without them. Amelia knows that she and Simone are home for good so her wonderful personality shines brighter each day. These two girls are glued to each other. I am in awe of these beautiful girls and we couldn't be any happier!

We wanted to let you know that Chancey is doing fantastic! He’s eating well and still is as calm as ever. He loves to take a walk and he is beginning to enjoy the back yard. He is very inquisitive, checking everything out. He sticks close to one or the other of us. He has slept on our bed since we brought him home with no problems. He is definitely a “lover”. We took him to our vet yesterday. She found him to be in excellent condition. We cannot thank you enough for finding us our Chancey! Dave & Mary
CHANCEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: If you are looking for sweet, then here I am. I somehow got lost and ended up in the shelter. LINDY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Lindy and I am a 4 year old spayed female. My previous owner dropped me off at the shelter because they did not have any time for me. It was obvious that I was neglected because my coat and skin are in pretty bad shape. But I am a lucky girl because the shelter knew that WROC is famous for treating girls like me. They helped arrange transport and here I am in sunny Southern California. I am a gentle playful girl. I like to walk in the park and I love perching on the couch and watching the Westies go by. Special Westie Kisses, Lindy
Bubbles, Adopted February 2012
I want to thank everybody ever had anything at all to do with the making of this picture. I am overwhelmed, deeply touched but very humbled. I never dreamed I would win such a life changing award. There are so many to thank...my chauffeur for bringing me to So Cal where dreams do come true, my agents that always looked out for my best interest, my hairdresser for making me look fabulous 24/7, my foster pals who taught me the art of play, my personal dog walker who took me out on neighborhood adventures. But I want to thank my parents, Carol & William for giving me the opportunity at such a wonderful life. If it were not for them I would not be where I am today. Thank you all so very much. I love you all! Bubbles
BUBBLE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Bubbles is a very sweet girl, current on her shots, spayed, microchipped and estimated to be between 7-8 years old. She kisses every one she meets and does a little dance to let them know she is happy to meet them. Bubbles will be a great addition to a new family that will spoil her, but the real reward is the love she gives back.
Brady, Adopted February 2012
Thank you WROC for finding Bob for me. He is the most amazing Dad ever!! We are having a great time and he is taking such excellent care of me. I have finally found the home where I was meant to be. Huge Westie Kisses, Brady
BRADY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Brady. My previous owner tried to take care of me, but her health issues landed me home alone with no where to go and no one to love me. I got food but precious little else for 2 weeks. A very kind neighbor took me in when my owner agreed she could no longer care for me. This good samaritan called WROC and they came for me the next day.
This is the beginning of my brand new life. I am a very handsome 5-6 year old neutered male and I am very partial to my foster Dad. I love walks in the park and I have discovered "Earl", a foot long chicken toy, and I love to play with him. My foster Dad says that I am a fabulous dog and will thrive with a strong loving pack leader - are you the one for me? XOXO Brady

Madison, Adopted January 2012
I have a wonderful new family, Mom & Dad, Garland & Kyle, and "Sherman". Mom says I am fabulous girl and they are having a great time with me. Sherman is not so sure, but even when he shows his tiny little teeth, I kiss him. He will come around in no time. I am having the time of my life! Happy, happy doggie dance, Madison
MADISON'S ORIGINAL STORY: My sister and I somehow lost our family. We were wandering the streets when a good samaritan found us and took us to the shelter. It was a cold scary place, but at least I had my Sis with me. But suddenly someone adopted her, but not me. I was so sad and lonely, almost inconsolable. But WROC was watching me all the while and they came for me on New Years Eve. I was so happy to go home! I am a 1-2 year old spayed female, current on all my shots and microchipped. I am a very sweet and happy girl. Would you be my forever family? I promise, I will love you unconditionally. Happy kisses, Madison
Cooper, Adopted January 2012
I have my new home with Mom & Dad, Ann & Dave. Their Westie Yoda just recently crossed the bridge and they loved her very much. Mom said a house is not a home without a Westie and when she saw me, she just knew I was "the one". Thank you WROC - I am really enjoying life at the beach! Love & Kisses, Cooper
COOPER'S ORIGINAL STORY: One sunny magnificent California day I thought I would sneak out and check out the neighborhood, what harm could that be? The gate was open and welcoming me to explore. I wandered a bit, sniffing new scents and enjoying new sights. I wasn't running away, I was just exploring. But before you know it I was picked up by Animal Control and put in a cage, so scary. After almost 30 days, WROC took me home. I am neutered, micro-chipped, and current on all my shots. Grateful hugs, Cooper
Kelsey, now Olivia, Adopted January 2012
I was adopted by Lisa and Catie, 2 very special WROC friends. My Mom Lisa has been helping rescued Westies for a long time, starting with Elaine and now WROC. I have 2 new Westie sisters, Hannah & Emma and life could not be any better. Thank you WROC - another happy ending!! XOXO Olivia
KELSEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Kelsey and I was supposed to be someone's Christmas present. People lined up to adopt me at the shelter, but I was not available until December 27. So I spent Christmas in a crowded shelter in a cage with 7 other dogs, we huddled together and argued a bit over who got the most food. Still I was hopeful that my new family would come, but it seemed like Santa overlooked me because no one showed up on my adoption day. Lucky for me, the shelter called WROC and my very own Santa arrived. I am an adorable, 12 pound Westie girl. I am happily waiting for my very own family. Lots of Kisses, Kelsey
Sugar Cookie, Adopted January 2012
Santa Claus was very good to me this year...he brought me Linda, Jim, Chappie, Skye, and Munchkin. Yes, it's true, I have my very own special family and I am the happiest Westie ever! You just have to believe and all your dreams will come true! Sending special thanks to my very own Westie angel, Toto! Much love and many many kisses, Sugar Cookie
SUGAR COOKIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: In the wake of the holiday I found myself looking for a new home. It felt like a difficult feat finding a place to rest my head. You see, I am diabetic and I require two shots a day. But diabetes does not define me, nor does it hamper my life in any way. I am a typical Westie girl, a very special one at that. As I wondered what my fate would be I heard faint bells ringing in the distance. I was hopeful and as I raised my head, I was placed in the arms of my foster family; Linda and Jim. The bells ringing in the distance were from Toto; their beloved dog that recently crossed the bridge. She helped me find my way to them knowing they would care for me until the right family is found. I believe in the magic of Christmas and it was that spirit that visited me and told me to follow the bells that led me to WROC. I am now nestled all snug in my bed, as visions of the Christmas spirit dance in my head. XO Sugar C.
