WROC's original fun-raiser.  A day in the park with fun filled action:  Westie Races, Silent Auction, Raffle, Boutique, fabulous food, bake sale, and so much more.  Registration starts at 10:00am, Edison Park, Huntington Beach, CA and the fun goes until 4:00pm.  $20 per person, children under 12, $5, registration includes lunch from the Taco Man!!

Surf City Surf Dog - Joey Surfs!!

Mark your calendar for the 5th anniversary, September 27, 28, 29, for 3 days of doggone fun for everyone.  Yappy Hour and Opening Ceremonies, Costume Contest, 2 day Expo, and the World Famous Surf Competition.   WROC's own Surf Dog Joey will be defending his 2012 1st place title on Sunday September 27 at dog beach (Goldenwest & Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach).  Come out and support Joey & WROC!!  Joey is the "D" in the logo below.

St Patrick's Day Walk-a-thon

WROC's annual early St Patrick's Day Walk for the Westies.  Grab your Westie and your pledge sheets.  Prizes for $25, $50 and $100 contributions:  WROC flashlight, WROC blanket or T-Shirt, and WROC beach chair.Join us for a great time for a great cause.  Snacks & drinks will be provided.  Registration 9:00am, Walk 10:00am.

Another successful event!  We had a wonderful time meeting with old and new friends.  Our Westie family just continues to grow, 70+ people and Westies turned out to raise money for our rescue.  Thank you everyone for supporting WROC.

Just in time for the holiday season, famed Huntington Beach photographer, Julie Megill, will be taking photos of our Westies in an adorable holiday setting. Come for the photo, stay for the fun, picnic, silent auction, raffle and our Unique Boutique.  It will be a fun day for everyone.

Join us for 3 days of dog-gone fun. WROC is one of the sponsored charities in this weekend packed full of good times with your dog. We will be walking the runway on Friday evening at the Shorebreak Hotel and would love to see you there. There is a costume contest and street fair on Saturday. Surf Dog Joey will represent WROC in the surf contest on Sunday. Come out & support WROC & JOEY!!!

What a great event and our Joey won!!  He took first place in the the small dog division and wowed the crowd with his surfing abilities and his Hollywood charm.  His surfing prowess raised over $2,000 for WROC!!  Thank you everyone who came and cheered for Joey, the little rescue who was born to make waves!

Our California famous Paws in the Park picnic annual fun raiser promises was the best ever. The festivities started at 10:00 with registration, our rescue parade, and group photo. The Perry Preakness kicked off at 11:45 and the races continued throughout the day. Our silent auction and raffle were amazing this year with Mother's and Father's Day gifts, Westie gifts, bicycles, doggie stroller, bike stroller, handcrafted items, Orvis beds, and gift certificates galore. The Taco Man served up chicken, steak and pork tacos, along with rice, beans, tortillas, and salsa. It was the Westie Event of the Year!!!

This great event was organized and promoted by Lisa & Jodi's Book the Event. Team Joey showed up in force. It was a great day at the beach. Joey took fourth in his weight class and he represented WROC well! If there was an award for "most photographed", he won hands down!

WROC's own Joey took time out of his busy schedule practicing for the upcoming surf competition to visit elementary students. Joey's mission is to educate children about dog ownership, dog safety, and why rescue organizations exist.

Joey even brought gift bags for the kids which included sunglasses, crayons, bracelets, stickers, and of course cookies & candy! It was very educational day for the students and Joey was basking in all the attention!

WROC's Annual Paws in the Park Picnic was an AMAZING success!! Thank you everyone who attended even though our day started our raining Westies! But the clouds parted and we had a beautiful sunny day. We sincerely appreciate the love and support of our extended Westie family.

It was a beautiful day for WROC's St Patty's Day Walk for the Westies. We had over 70 Westies and their owners join us for our walk for our seniors. What a fantastic event! We had great California weather and the Westies and their owners had a wonderful day of fun, food, and photos. We had photos the next day, just in time for Christmas cards. Thank you Julie!

We will have a WROC boutique just in time for Christmas, along with a mega raffle item and a silent auction for a personal photo shoot with Julie!!!

Hundreds of people turned out at our 2nd annual fund raising garage sale. Thank you to our dedicated friends, family, adopters and supporters, who helped us with our most successful sale ever. We raised $3,381.00 for the care of our Westies. What wonderful Westie families we have all over California in Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, Orange County, and San Diego!!!

Thank you for joining us for our annual fun-filled picnic with over 125 Westies and their 250 owners for Westie games, lure racing, bobbing for wieners, musical hoops, silent auction, raffle, awards, barbeque, and great vendors! The highlight of the event was our rescue parade where you will meet our rescued Westies and the families they adopted. The outpouring of support for Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond was spectacular.

PAWS MEETS WROC FOR A WALK IN THE PARK

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA

La Quinta High School in Fountain Valley , California has chosen WROC as their Community Outreach program of choice. High School student, Royal, has formed PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare Society) which promotes animal education, knowledge, understanding and attitudes related to the lives of animals and the responsibility we have to our animal friends. WROC is grateful to PAWS, we are happy to have you on our team!

FALL GARAGE SALE FOR "WALLY"

Join us Saturday, October 10th for our fall garage sale.

The proceeds from the garage sale are for "WALLY". This tiny 4 year old Westie was found wandering the streets in San Diego. He was in such bad shape that the shelter would only release him to a non-profit 501c3 rescue organization, so they called WROC right away. He has skin issues that we are busy healing and he has also been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. We have the good news that the condition is operable, but the surgery will cost about $4,500.

WROC's first annual garage sale was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Our families, friends, supporters, and adopters donated freely and cleaned out their closets and garages as a bonus. We raised over $1000 for Wally. THANK YOU everyone for opening your hearts (and wallets) for this wonderful little Westie. Particular thanks to Roger, Priscilla, Gigi, Marcey, Linda, Jim, Dan, Karen and our breakfast baker who worked so hard at the crack of dawn!
