Our Seniors & Forever Fosters
No one speaks the language of a dog better than a senior dog! With wisdom and grace already on their side, they immediately transform when a compassionate person gives them affection, companionship and solace.
Some might say these dogs are lucky, but often the people who have adopted them think that they are the lucky ones. And, in each case, it is difficult to say just who has rescued who.
Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond (WROC) is the only IRS recognized 501(c)(3) Westie rescue charitable corporation serving all of California.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for West Highland White Terriers, to help control the animal population by spaying and neutering our dogs before they are placed in permanent homes, and to provide the public with education about our breed and its needs.
WHO WE ARE
We are looking for special folks who would like to open their home to a senior or older pup. Older pups still have a lot of love to give and many of our Westies do not even act their age. Will you open your heart and home to one of these beautiful senior Westies? They want nothing more than the chance to enjoy the rest of their lives in a home where they will be loved. Please see Perry's page for more information about senior pets.
WROC is not affiliated with any other Westie rescue group in the Southern CA area. We are the only IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non profit corporation in California recognized by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America. All of our funds and efforts go to the rescue and support of our Westies.
FACTS ABOUT US:
Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond is the California rescue organization recognized by:
The objective of our Forever foster program is to provide a loving home where seniors can live the remainder of their lives in peace and comfort. All have been deemed too fragile to be subjected to another change in living conditions, are too sick to be re-homed, or have limited time left with us.
When the day comes that the disease finally overcomes them, they will cross the bridge surrounded by their foster family and knowing that they are truly loved. To read about our Forever Fosters and The Perry Fund and how you can help, CLICK HERE.

WHAT WE DO
Our primary focus is securing loving homes for unwanted, neglected and/or abused animals. We take particular care in placing our Westies. Our screening process includes an application, reference checks, interview and a home visit to ensure the home and family is compatible with the pet's needs and our requirements. We request owners to sign a contract obliging them to contact us if they cannot provide for the animal for any reason. We will always take our rescues back if the adoption does not work out.

HOW WE DO IT
Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond (WROC) was founded in the summer of 2008 by a group of dedicated volunteers. We would not be able to continue this important work without our network of volunteers, foster families, supporters and our adopters that have opened their hearts to a rescued Westie.
Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond participates in community events. We depend upon fund raising events and donations to continue our rescue, veterinary care, and rehabilitation. If you would like to donate, WROC now accepts all major credit cards through Paypal.
