ADOPTING FROM WROC
Thank you for your interest in adopting a Westie from our rescue. Each dog comes to us under different circumstances – abandonment, owner surrenders due to new babies, divorce, death, or health issues. WROC is not a shelter but a dedicated rescue family so every Westie in our care resides in a loving foster home and receives thorough veterinary attention.
We carefully review applications to match dogs with the best homes. To start, please complete the attached application. If we see a potential fit, we’ll contact you. To keep saving these dogs, our adoption donation is $500-$1,500 to cover ongoing vet costs.
Our process includes reference checks, a home visit to confirm a safe environment and a meet-and-greet with all family members and pets. Adopters sign a contract agreeing to contact us if they can no longer care for the dog. Please know that we receive more applications than dogs, and finding the right match can take time – sometimes a week, sometimes months because rescue is unpredictable.
